Imagine lying at ground level and peeping through a tangle of
long grass, Black-Eyed Susans and Queen Anne's Lace. This, my first
watercolor painting, was inspired by the amazingly delicate flowers
that grow profusely in the wild. As I walk on the Eastern Promenade
Trail in Portland in the summer, the path is dotted with lacy
splendor. I imagine a child's view of nature in this picture. All is
green and verdant in summer.
