Dipping my brush into water and paint to create the perfect
celery green or pomegranate red is my favorite way to spend the
morning. My studio is in an airy corner of our sun room and I paint
on a drop leaf antique table. My art tools are handy and the cats
pester me by trying to drink the water I use to clean my brushes.
In my life I have crafted gold and silver jewelry, painted with
oil, and made journal art quilts. When I began using watercolors,
however, I knew I had found my perfect medium. I enjoy the way the
paint flows from the brush to paper. I know I have so much to learn,
and I have so many pictures still in my head to make into realities.
During my professional life I was truly blessed to have my eyes
and ears be my guide. The word processor and camera were my tools.
People allowed me into their lives and trusted me to tell their
stories. I captured images with camera and told stories that earned
awards from the Arizona Newspapers Foundation and the Arizona Press
Club. I treasure my memories and keep them close. They propel me
forward in the this new stage of my life, which is to make paintings
of the objects I love.
